Synopsis: Maggie Q stars as the rogue Nikita who is determined to bring down the very agency that trained her to be an assassin.
So after I found out there was a new Nikita show I started watching them from the beginning without looking ahead. The Pilot episode opens with a similar monologue, going off memory, this certainly does differ from how La Femme Nikita ended; on the extended life support and lines up more closely with the movie. Or perhaps the end of season one in La Femme Nikita.
After that brief explanation of the show’s premise. I’m guessing this girl that just got arrested will be a new recruit that Nikita tries to free…
Unlike an older Michael as in the movie, this one is younger as in La Femme Nikita.
It was an older Amanda in the movie, then Madeline (Alberta Watson) in La Femme Nikita who was younger and more ruthless. This Amanda appears younger still and does not seem to be as attached to the head of Operations.
Who did Nikita get the intel from? Hm, Alex. That was revealed pretty quickly. And explains the one that got away in that robbery scene as Nikita.
Percy is Operations. Xander Berkeley, the guy that headed CTU on 24 for awhile as George Mason. I know he’ll be a good character.
Overall, not a bad pilot episode. Established some main characters and the plot of the show. I was watching for a dive down the garbage shoot when Nikita ran through that kitchen, but it didn’t happen. (It was in the movie and the very same scene lifted and used in La Femme Nikita the TV show.)
