La Femme Nikita’s Peta Wilson

La Femme Nikita

Peta Wilson has been featured in publications such as People, US, In Style, Details, and TV Guide. Peta has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and The Rosie O’Donnell Show. Her personal interests include classic cars (she owns a 1956 Thunderbird convertible), theater, and a wide variety of music – blues and country in particular.

Peta is a native of Australia, she spent her early years traveling with her family as an ‘Army brat’ and much of her early childhood in New Guinea. She is an accomplished sailor. Two experiences which influenced Peta’s career choice were: First the lack of television while growing up. She and her brother would put on shows for family and friends as a way of entertaining themselves. The second was a result of her family’s never-ending moves and constantly changing schools. She learned to quickly size up situations and quickly adapt to fit in. Her family ties continue to be the priority in Wilson’s life: her grandmother stays with her in Toronto when La Femme Nikita is in production and during the rest of the year, she always has a relative visiting – her mom, uncle, cousin, or brother (who appeared in an episode of the show during the first season).

Peta Wilson moved to the U.S. in 1991 in hopes of becoming an actress. She studied with Arthur Mendoza from the Actors Circle Theater in Los Angeles, Tom Waits at TomCats Repertory Group, and Sylvana Gulado. Nikita’s first role was in a production entitled Fool For Love for the Actors Circle Theater. Film credits include Reasonable Force, Sadness of Sex, Woman Undone, and the Fox movie of the week Vanishing Point. Damian Harris’ Strangers anthology was the official launch of Peta’s acting career.

Wilson continues to enjoy an active and athletic lifestyle. Along with the vigorous one-on-one training for her role, she enjoys scuba diving, swimming, water skiing, yoga, and aerobic funk classes. Peta is also an avid reader and collector of photo journalism books. When La Femme Nikita is not in production Wilson lives in the Hollywood Hills.
